How Service Connected Us — and Created LemonAID

Project LemonAID began with friendship, service, and a shared belief that young people can change the world when given the chance to connect with it.

Mike and Candice have been friends since college — two dreamers who always believed in doing good and making a difference. Their paths often intertwined through service projects and youth programs, and in 2020, Candice began leading humanitarian trips for teens. Those early trips revealed something extraordinary: when youth step outside their comfort zones to serve others, they return home transformed — more confident, compassionate, and ready to lead.

In 2025, Mike and Candice met Shanny on a humanitarian trip to Cambodia. The experience was more than a journey abroad; it was the beginning of something much bigger. In the heart of that community, surrounded by shared laughter, new friendships, and life-changing work, the idea for Project LemonAID was born — a nonprofit that blends adventure, service, and leadership into one unforgettable experience.

Candice Noss

Candice is the heart of our travel experiences — the connector who brings people together across communities and continents. She has a unique gift for building relationships wherever she goes and creating spaces where people feel seen, valued, and inspired. Candice ensures that every LemonAid trip is grounded in respect for local culture, meaningful collaboration, and the true spirit of global friendship. Her energy and compassion have helped shape the heart of Project LemonAid: sharing the joy of service across the world.

Shanny Pilcher

Shanny, a Montessori educator, immediately saw how these experiences aligned with her passion for helping youth grow into independent, compassionate leaders. She believes that humanitarianism isn’t reserved for big moments — it’s built in the small, everyday acts of kindness and awareness. Shanny’s vision for Project LemonAID is to guide young people in recognizing the beauty in others and in themselves through meaningful service that creates a lifelong commitment to doing good.

Michael Fisk

Mike brings his expertise as a business professional and lifelong advocate for youth. He ensures that every LemonAID trip is well-organized, sustainable, and — most importantly — affordable. His dedication keeps our mission accessible so that every young person, regardless of background, can experience the growth that comes from serving others. Mike believes that when youth are empowered to help others, they discover their own strength and purpose.

Together, Mike, Candice, and Shanny created Project LemonAID to turn adventure into purpose — inspiring youth to serve, connect, and grow. What started as one trip has become a movement of kindness, leadership, and lifelong humanitarianism.

At Project LemonAID, we believe that service isn’t just something you do — it’s a way of seeing the world.
