February – April 2027
Preparation & Growth
These months are all about turning excitement into readiness. You’ll deepen your understanding of Nepal, strengthen team connections, and prepare your heart, mind, and suitcase for what’s ahead.
Monthly Team Meetings (virtual or in-person)
Each month, you’ll meet with your trip group for updates, training, and team-building activities. We’ll discuss travel logistics, share fundraising progress, and work through real-life service scenarios to help you feel prepared and confident. These meetings are a time to connect, ask questions, and stay motivated as the countdown to departure continues.
Fundraising
Throughout the year, Project LemonAID participants partner with Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) clothing drives to help raise funds for international service projects. By gathering donated clothing, shoes, and fabric items from friends, families, and local communities, students play a direct role in supporting the work they will do in country.
These collection efforts help fund building projects, educational resources, community programs, transportation of materials, and other service initiatives connected to each trip. More importantly, they teach students that meaningful change begins long before they board a plane—it starts through teamwork, sacrifice, leadership, and a willingness to serve their own community first.
Every bag collected becomes part of a larger story of impact, connection, and opportunity both locally and globally.
Cultural Preparation
Through short, engaging Pre-Trip Learning Modules, you’ll explore:
- History, traditions, and values
- The meaning behind our service projects
- How to engage respectfully and compassionately in new communities
- Basic language words and phrases to help you connect authentically
These modules combine short readings, reflection prompts, and video lessons — designed to be meaningful but manageable for busy schedules.
Packing and Travel Guidance
As the trip approaches, you’ll receive detailed packing lists, travel tips, and gear recommendations. We’ll cover everything from passports and immunizations to cultural dress expectations and what to bring for project work. You’ll also complete your travel readiness checklist — ensuring all paperwork, flights, and logistics are squared away well before takeoff.
